Awana club children sitting in a circle with a leader and open handbooks

Welcome to the Awana Clubs Africa Newsletter, our regular update for church leaders, club volunteers, parents and partners. In each edition we share news from the regions, encouragement for leaders and practical ideas for club nights.

A word of encouragement

Every week, ordinary people do something extraordinary: they open their church doors, gather children and teach them God's Word. If you serve in a club, thank you. Your faithfulness matters more than you know.

Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. — Galatians 6:9

Our cultural values

  • Pray: We depend on God in everything we do.

  • Hustle: We work hard and with excellence for the sake of the gospel.

  • Craft: We keep improving how we disciple children and train leaders.

  • Love: We care deeply for children, families, leaders and one another.

Ideas for your next club night

  • Start with a welcome: Learn every child's name and greet them at the door.

  • Keep Scripture central: Make memorising and understanding God's Word the heart of the evening.

  • Play with purpose: Use games to build friendships and teamwork, not just to fill time.

  • Follow up: Contact families of children who miss a week; it shows each child is valued.

News from the regions

Our regional teams continue to train leaders, support churches and start new clubs. Look out for upcoming events in your region on our events page, and share your own club stories with us so we can celebrate them in a future edition.
